I think the local reporting is apart of the problem weve seen recently, all too cosy, no players really being held to account for poor performances.

Must be nice playing e, then picking up the local paper and recieving a 7/10 rating each week.

William isn't a journalist, few who work for Trinity Media could be accused of such, as you say, all too pally.

Hdm reporting has always been too cosy
Going back to the days of dick tingle travelling on the team bus.
It’s all about striking a balance.
If the reporter becomes too critical the club will become more defensive in interviews & access to the club news.
The club, players all know they’ve under performed for whatever reason.
My personal opinion is that the players have lived off the 2 cup wins. The coach to an extent
also cut slack to the players out of loyalty.

What I mean is the landscape is fundamentally uncertain. We don't have a benefactor to underwrite us. I wouldn't assume we will retain our best players and will be able to trade up. Everything may continue as before, but I very much doubt it. For all the continued criticism of recent years we may look back with warm nostalgia at them.
