McRae has a proven record of coaching teams populated with very good players and getting results but not cutting it with teams of lesser ability. Our progress under him majored on one or two decent players but I still blame him for the no half back legacy we're still suffering from. He's a good media and contacts man and a nice guy to boot so Director of Rugby or similar would be the only way I'd have him back perhaps in tandem with a proper coach in the mold of Brian Smith.
