| I can only think they are trying to mitigate risk of the drop next year by bringing in someone they really rate with strong recruitment contacts.
Next year is huge and I’m assuming they have someone lined up.
Thanks Willie, probably wrong time wrong place to take on the head coach position at Wakefield.

| Well I got berated for questioning WP but clearly I wasn’t alone.
No point dancing a jig of delight as that helps nobody and I’d rather have been wrong.
However I was never confident, not in the way we played or the teams we played. For me there was always sorting amis.
No idea who we have in mind but I think we may need to look to Australia. There are some good British coaches about but can we risk it?
Thanks WP for us staying up and thanks for a fair number of decent signings you made.

| Wasn't expecting that, feel for Poching if I'm honest. He's was left with a right mess to sort and yes performances dropped off significantly mid season but collectively they did what could reasonably be expected last year. Anyhow it's just made recruitment that bit more difficult.
Mash to first team coach?!

| Did an excellent job at the end of the 2021 season when he came in and appeared to have got things right at the end of this season, although things looked desperate with a couple of months left of the season.
Nervous times again for Trinity as there is a huge rebuilding job to be done and whoever comes in certainly needs to hit the ground running and hopefully has a couple of decent forwards and a HB in the car with them when they arrive.
At a time when we are trying to sell S/T's for next season, we could do with some positive news and quick !

God I hope not. We don't have a Peacock, Sinfield, Maguire or Burrow to hide his short comings.

| Tony Smith isn’t available although his brother would have talked him out of taking the Wakefield job.

| Doesn't actually say if he was sacked or not, but I assume that as he was on a 1 year deal they just didn't renew it?

| Yes it appears it just wasn’t renewed or extended so more of a left the club. Certainly not a sacking, just going their different directions.

| It clearly wasn't for him. I do wonder whether the turnaround was due to someone else taking up the reins or the players getting their heads together. If leaving players are giving bad feedback, it was clearly never a job for Willie.
Although critical earlier in the season, I did think that the end of season flourish might have carried on into next year and he'd learned the job, but clearly not.
Those behind the scenes will know the reason for the turnaround and that might shape where we go next. If it is someone already there, fine. Matt Peet has done okay at Wigan with a similar profile behind the scenes at Wigan.
