He's not a winger but he is doing his best, that is good enough for me.

I disagree. Hanley should play against York. He’s been fairly solid yet unspectacular against Leigh and Wakey. If he hadn’t snatched at the kick and scored we’d all be saying he had a good game.

Dropping him now would be a knock to his confidence.

v York I'd go:

1st half - Hardaker - French - Halsall - Bibby - Hanley
2nd half - French - Bibby - Halsall - Hardaker - Hanley

That should give us more of an idea which way round we want to play Hardaker/French/Bibby and get another game's worth of experience for Halsall and Hanley. I don't think either of them will play against Leeds anyway with French returning, unless we get yet another injury.

I definitely wouldn't go as far as Mr Frisk, and I thought Hanley was improved this week, but I do wonder what he would need to do in a game to make people stop saying he was 'solid'.

I think get a comfortable lead and the game in the bag first then play around with some combos

I doubt they’ll experiment too much against York tbh. They’re a good side and they’ll throw everything in to the game. Going off Hastings getting the extra weeks training instead of playing against Leigh, I also wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t see French until the following week, although the fact it’s knock out may twist Lams arm.

He's still averaging over 3 knock ons a game to be honest but this week was an improvement. I'm not that bothered about knock ons there, it's the ones deep in our half he needs to cut out (which he did this week).
