| Does IL have a responsibility to the fans with regard to informing us of what is going on at the club?
1. Martin Gleeson- Losing one of the best English centres in SL
2. Mags Future- Off to Souths?
I havent seen anything about the regular fans forums we had over the last few seasons? Maybe he knows what sort of questions will be fired at him and has made a tactical decision to hold off.
IMO we put a lot of blodd, sweat andf tears not to mention money into the club he needs to al least give us some details, if not a watered down version to keep us happy. Not revealing anything just annoys the fans and start to lose repsect.
Thoughts...........

| can't say i've been overly impressed by his handling of the Hock situation.
the lenght of the Gleeson situation was a bit unfair to fans not knowing what was going on...
he doesn have a responsibility imo, yes

| I think IL has made a rod for his own back regarding being open with the fans. He came in and had forums and posted on here along with Mick Hogan. Fans now expect to be told every last detail about the club regarding coaches, players, transfers..... and sometimes it's just not realistic.
The situation with Gleeson was probably quite a complex legal one and it would seem that he's left with some money in his back pocket. This would have probably been the delay in announcing his release. We can't expect to get a statement saying "Gleeson is probably leaving" then the following week "It looks likely that he is" and so on until we get one saying "It's with regret that we inform you of Gleesons departure....". The club simply can't keep everyone up to date with the day to day running of the club no matter what anyone on here says/believes.
The Madge one seems to be being instigated by the Aussie media rather than Wigan and Madge. What IL can do about this, I don't know. I'm sure once there is something to tell, he will.
The Hock situation could/should have been handled better. We had no information regarding his ban at all. It's only now his ban is near it's end that we've started to hear from the club regarding him.

| Yes he does have a responsibility.
BUT
That responsibility is when it is prudent and right to do so. For example, the Gleeson situation was handled in the right way for me - when it comes to an employee's personnel issues you can't play these out in open. Some people seem to think that just because someone is a rugby player they seem to lose their right to confidentiality when it comes to disciplinary and other HR matters.
With regard to Madge it's still at an early stage, all speculation and if the club responded to every rumour they wouldn't get anything done. If the move to Souths is true if I was Lenegan I wouldn't say anything official until the next coach was agreed and release it at the same time. Maybe he's thinks it might be too soon for Waney and needs to deal with that as the last thing we want is both Madge and Waney leaving.
With regard to fans forums, maybe he's just thinks it's a waste of time given the number of muppets who seem to turn up to these things and ask stupid questions. You just know that if there is one this season, Lenegan will say that he can't say anything in detail about the Gleeson situation but that the first 10 questions will want to know the reasons why.

| As fans we are customers of the club, and while we should be informed the full details are not necessary.
As long as his employees ie the coaches and players are happy with the situation and the information they get so that it does not have a detrimental affect on their performance I am more than happy with IFL's policy.
I appreciate there were mumblings throughout last year regards Hock, but I do not think it is any coincidence we look to pick at the club when we go through a bit of a form blip.
Part of what makes us the best most intelligent fans in the game is the desire to know all the ins and outs at our great club, but realistically that is never going to happen, despite our thirst for it.

Perhaps the Brigantes should organise a forum for themselves to keep the "muppet" fans away?
