Whats with all this warrior malarkey, seems to be everywhere at the minute - the calendar, t-shirts, posters, the season ticket etc. I think most wigan fans want to ditch this tacky crap. We are Wigan R.L.F.C not the warriors. Merry Christmas x

In all seriousness I want to keep the Warriors tag, I just don't think going back to Wigan RLFC is going to be any better.
Warriors doesn't IMO sound gimmicky or tacky. |

In all seriousness, the concentration on 'Warrior' seems to be a considered effort to attract more young support. It's often been said that the core support average age is pretty high in Super League terms (and a lot higher than Latics, by the way).
I'm sure that's behind the thinking in releasing the new designs of shirts. Supposedly to appeal to a younger audience. Time will tell if it's successful.

im an older fan (as you know)...5 yrs ago i would have said change back yo wigan rl
now i call them warriors...........the things stuck with me, so must stick with younger fans,..............plus..........its a brand name thing, merchandise wise.........which in the long run is for the good of the club if it brings in revenue and attracts young fans.
and yes...i do join in the silly chant.....which ends in WARRIORS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
