Thinking about this long and hard the other day and I am finding it difficult to put my finger on anything or anyone in particular that has brought about the sad state of affairs unfolding in regards to the club.
It all seems so far removed from the enthusiasm that greeted the move back to the Stoop in 2006 with a new Investor and the potential to work with a sporting partner to grow the business. Yes there were a few dissenters who walked because we had got into bed with the dark side, but we saw steady crowds for 2006,07 and 08 with mid table finishes and some memorable wins.
Since the start of the 2009 season, things seem to have unravelled at an alarming rate. Since then we have had 2 CEO's from cricketing backgrounds and after the sports café "sponsorship" from Ian Lenegan dried up, we have had a couple of names on the shirt but very little investment. A number of key errors in recruitment on and off the park have accelerated the decline to the extent where a move to a 3,000 odd seat stadium is being accepted as a positive.
You can select as many "scapegoats" from the above list, but personally, I see the RFL and their lack of assistance or even understanding of the unique position London were in, as being the main reason.

I think when IL was forced to cut ties with London it started the slippery slope.

Why was there not an option of gutterfax? oh! he set it up.

Judging from the current state of the poll Gus can't even excel at being crap.

A similar poll set up by jaybs would only allow us to vote for the RFL.

David Hughes. As club owner it's his responsibility to see that the right people are recruited to do a particular job and that the club has a proper 'road map' for its future progress - this applies in any business. It's been his apparent refusal to do this that's put us in the mess we're in now.

All the above! i think the sport and the Club have been and are badly run! If there is a crucial point it was IL being forced to leave. CEOs and coaches have just contributed to the mess. it has nothing toi do with RU or Harlequins - they are both well managed and run and are making a success where our game goes downwards..................................
