Symonds surely wont be considered against Hull FC. Not sure on Wakeman either. As he played in the WC he wont have had much of a pre season again....how fit will he be?

If fit, the other 4 have to play, however.

Team selection also suggests Matty English wont be considered for round 1. He has been our best forward in both pre season games so far.

The fact Dickinson and Smith are not playing this game as well suggests to me we have definitely got a few more injuries than we are making out.

but those that havent played a pre season game have to be doubts and not the best prep to go into a sl game without any minutes under your belt is it if they do

The squad play full contact games in training anyway so those who aren't playing will still be getting what they need, just not the matchday experience. This was something that was explained by the coaching staff last year after folk we're worried we don't play enough friendlies.

Basically an academy game. 4 first teamers playing in English, Roche, Simpson and Ormsby.

Id say this standard is about Ormsbys level, no idea why hes still at the club. Our academy wingers are better.

Jared Simpson went off injured again from what I understand.

A Workington fan i've spoke to said Ormsby was shocking, Matty English got high praise as did a lot of the lads for keeping the score down and having a go.

Ormsby wasn't even playing but might as well give him a hard time anyway.

Either way that level is his standard of rugby.

No way on earth is he even been considered for the Hull game, surely?

Yep I’ve watched them in training and it’s full contact- but no way is it of the same intensity or length of a game.
We are going into the season undercooked with many of our key players having not played a minute of a preseason game- if they weren’t necessary clubs would t play them!
