| Well as expected Joe Wardle had been charged grade C and will Cop a deserved ban on top of being sent off for a lazy careless tackle. The Catalans player was fit enough to play on.
However Christian Inu has been charged Grade D for a cowardly tackle on Eorl, he couldn't play on, the tackle didn't need to be made and he should cop an even bigger ban than Wardle.
However both could get three matches Joe for the top end ban Inu for the bottom end which is three matches. Be interesting to see the outcome. It should be two and four/five.
However to me the worst thing was that despite both Thaler and Hicks (top level regular sl refs) seeing the offence and Eorl clearly being hurt possibly badly and it being a red card offence Thaler produced yellow thus as a referee seemingly setting the standard for the rest of the game. Thus Wardle should have got yellow and like Inu charged later so that the game was not affected and consistency maintained. Both were sending off offences clearly seen.
Don't get me wrong we were rubbish in the 2nd half but this and calls against Wigan and Leeds by the video ref could have made between 4/6 points difference.
But we do need at least one more forward and he needs to be aggressive and a leader if not for this season for next before a long term decline sets in.

Don't agree - that Wardle shot was as bad as you will ever see- was clearly and blatantly a nasty tackle. Was a red all day long and we'd certainly be calling for it if it was the other way round.
The Eorl one wasn't as obvious as more than one involved in the tackle and it was difficult to see in full flow who did what.
The fact of injury is irrelevant and not something that should be taken into consideration when on the field- remember the red for o donnell that was given because kirke was stretchered off that turned out to be a clash of heads?

Sorry you are wrong Hicks was level Eorl was already held when Inu came in and pulled his legs up the yellow was a smokescreen it was a red or nothing as was Joe Wardles I'm not defending Joe just pointing out once again inconsistent refereeing.
I wouldn't complain if Thaler said no one saw it and put it on report Hicks clearly saw it hence Thalers action but ultimately a cop out that affected the game.

| I disagree too, i have always maintained that the disciplinary should always take the actual offence into account and not the effects of it, yes Inu's was a dangerous tackle, but he didn't mean to hurt Eorl, it's just the way Eorl landed that made it worse, so for me, yes he should get banned for the carelessness of the tackle but i don't think it was malicious or nasty.
But i did think it should have warranted a red card at the time.
As for Wardle, come on that the was the most straightforward red card you're likely to see, again, wasn't malicious, no attempt to hurt Casty, but it was lazy and high and could have caused a lot of damage, thankfully it didn't.

If you read my original post my comment is about a lack of consistency both were red cards the added consequences were 12 v 13 and squad wise 15 v 17 which didn't help us. Had Thaler been consistent it would have been 12 v 12 and for thirty minutes 13 v 12 in our favour makes for a different game

and that includes amateurs and school games.Get real.I was lucky to obtain an official dvd of the Rangi Chase attack on Brett Ferres last season if ever you are lucky enough to see this you may change your mind. Most spectators watch a game and follow the ball try watching off the ball a little more.I take your point about the refs and agree.

| I don't think professional players, set out with the intention of hurting a fellow professional, i'm not saying it doesn't happen, during a game when emotions are running high, but not as a pre meditated thought.

Players are targeted by opposition coaches all the time it may be wrong but you must be very naïve to believe that it does not happen.
