Something must have happened, he was Leigh's 14th man 1st half and ours in the 2nd.

Poor ref all round, we've been on the wrong end of his crapness plenty of times

if you study the match and are a true fan of the game you will see that he had a very good first half and a very bad second.
and if he had given leigh as many penalties then the score would be the other way round. the only thing you got right was that he should not referee in our league again

Just watching it back and I stand by my assesment of the first half (and the second).

gorgeous george is the worst of a bad bunch, he cost u the game, never a forward pass and as for the video ref well

How often do we see a player go offside but not get penalised because he's not involved with the play? On that basis it's fair to ask whether Ostick's obstruction would have made a difference ie would the Fev defender have made the tackle? The video ref never considered that in his comments. It's not the first time this season that Ian Smith has had tunnel vision.

We can't blame the ref for the forward pass: the TJ gave it. The annoying thing is how many marginal passes get ignored but not on this occasion.

Those two decisions were absulutely crucial. They must have been a crushing blow to Leigh especially as they were two superb pieces of rugby. No real surprise then that the discipline suffered after that because Fev were undoubtedly given a lift and most penalties resulted from their dominance at the ruck etc. Had those "tries" stood we would have been discussing a wonder performance by Martin Ridyard.

With the two big injuries Leigh are a bit threadbare up front especially against a pack like Fev's. They needed things to go for them last night and, sadly, the marginal decisions went the other way. After all said and done, however, it was only 4 tries to 3.

What bugs me is how many 'miles' forward passes get ignored. Couple in SL on TV in the last few weeks were a pass is made metres behind a line and caught metres in front of the line.



I am sure that we have been caught for forward passes more than all of our opponents put together this season.

Would not supprise me one bit that in the coming weeks we read that Fev are accepting the RFLs new rules and link up with another SL club. Seems very funny that a couple of weeks after the club say that we will not be a feeder club that we are on the end of ridiculous refing display in such an important game.

Don't let that paranoia run away with you! Fev have similarly stated they will not be a feeder club.

Far from paranoid but I do like a good conspiracy theory.
