| Surely part of Celtic's franchise application was thier long term lease of Brewery Field
This has now been sold for half a million pounds
Why ?
Yes they will now pay a small rental but long term it would seem a bad idea

| Long term the future (as planned and announced, at least) is a new stadium for the Crusaders, the football team and (possibly) Bridgend RU, is it not?

The sale of the lease was accompanied by a 25 year agreement to play there.
I think we're just about safe for the 3 year period we've been given so far.

| It's not the big thing it is being made out to be. As somebody on our site put it -
No-one at the club is unhappy about this. It's an arrangement used by many clubs such as Leigh Centurions and Leeds Rhinos for example. It means one company runs the ground and the club have devote more time and effort to concentrate club matters. I wouldn't say it's a non-story but it's certainly not a scandal and the stadium company have our best interests at heart as they know the Crusaders are the primary tenants.

'" stating on the radio tonight that " they hope to start in 6 months and it ' should ' be finished for October 2010 " , not a cat in hells chance as it is a 2 year build at the absolute minimum , more like 3
Celtic , any proposed ' new stadium ' is at least 5/6 years away and to give up the ownership of a lease on a prime town centre site like Brewery Field for 500 K is very strange

No it wasn't my post
The point was that the ground is being maintained and expanded upon by Brewery Field Ltd. It benefits all of the clubs that play their rather than the Crusaders paying for the upkeep of the stadium and everything that comes with that out of their own pockets. We're certainly better off as a result of this.
What is the set up with you lot and Leigh Genesis playing there?
