| Anyone able to suggest a few decent restaurants in the town centre that aren't curry houses? I'm struggling.
There's Nando's (big deal), and that rather poor Chinese/Thai fusion place in Centenery Square but I can't think of anywhere else that you could say was anywhere near classy.

| The only restaurant in the city centre that I go to every now and then is Buffet @ Bradford, just next to the Hilton.
Not classy by any means - it's an all you can eat buffet - but the food is good and it's not too expensive.

| What about the big hotels near the stations - Midland & Victoria? I've never eaten in such places but they do seem to have decent menus outside, or did.

I have not been but know someone who highly regards
Napoleons Casino
37 Bolton Road
Bradford, West Yorkshire BD1 4DR - 01274 391820
The restaurant is on a separate floor to the gamblers, its heavily subsidised by the profits from said gambers.
Food is supposed to be excellent and the prices low.
And on looking at this - seems hard to beat;

| There's that new place on Centenary Square that the College use for training their kids. We've had a couple of snacks there that have been very good, I'm sure they do mains as well.

| I was told the Russian place in Bradford was superb, but I'm afraid I'm not sure what it's called or whereabouts it is. Just got told by some contractors we had in at work that it was a real welcome surprise how good it was.
They were staying at the Jurys Inn near the Alhambra, so can't be far from there.

On the rare occasions we went to eat in Bradford city centre we tended to go to Orlandos just on the bend at the bottom of Morley Street, but that changed hands. It is still an italian, though, but I can't say what standard.
There's Polish food on at the Balanga Bar (where the old Market tavern used to be). Some barszcz, bigos and mixed pierogi would see anybody royally right. Went quite a while ago and it was a bit of a rough diamond but the food was good and plenty. They don't serve late though so you'd best ring them if interested.
The Russian Restauramt is bang opposite the Register office on Manor Row but I've never been - it always looks shut. But maybe it is just dimly lit. Who knows. The website www.rurest.co.uk/ is interesting and has menus.
The new Restaurant1914 upstairs in the Alhambra, with views over City Park, could be worth a shot, it is new, and I haven't been yet but sounds interesting, though it will no doubt be linked to theatre performances. Should be easy to get a table after the turn goes on stage!
Probably the best nosh might be at the [url=http://www.victoriabradford.co.uk/restaurants-bars/the-carmargue-restaurantCamargue[/url inside the Victoria Hotel on Bridge Street. Midland is OK and the entrance and interiors are impressive but I think the Vic grub is better.
