| As an outsider looking in, it does seem strange that Fages isn't featuring for saints, is there a problem with him? that means he is left out, maybe fitness issues?
i find it strange that you'd sign one of the games, few, genuine talented half backs and then not play him.

Strangley KC bigged him up all pre season and they not picked him.

| He'll be retired by the time KC allows him chance to get a game... Joking aside, I wonder if Fages is thinking he should have signed for another club. His off cuff, attacking brand of rugby isn't the 'Saints Way'

| I'm sure most clubs would love to have him, always thought he was a cracking player.
Maybe saints are going the way of the 90's Wigan, signing players just so no one else can have them

| Don't understand his selection philosophy Knowles and Burns ahead of Fages at the moment, he should have been on the bench to cover stand off and hooker options. I get the impression he wants Turner at stand off as his pet project at every opportunity.

Tasi looks very lightweight and pretty soft. Early days so to early to say but based on the 3 games I've seen I'm not optimistic.
Peyroux looked total rubbish in the NRL but I'm to give him time. He's done ok so far but I'm not holding my breath.

| It's easy for every1 from elsewhere to come on and have a pop but holy hell. Fages would do a better job than the options at 9 whilst roby out and definitely do a better job in the halves. Wilkin looks finished to me. Last night combined with that stats he put out v salford well I'd be losing my head if I was a saints fan!!

| Whilst it would have been nice to have a bit of explosive pace last night - I don't see anything to be concerned about just yet.
Theo is still very young and inexperienced. He had only limited opportunities at Salford - especially toward the back end of his time.
Basically he's still in the development phase of his career. Further along the line than Knowles and his cohort - but not the finished article.
Saints are very proud of their junior development system. So it shouldn't come as a surprise that Cunningham has opted for Knowles this early in the season. Had Theo been immediately promoted above kids Saints have invested a lot of work and faith in it wouldn't have sent a great message. Pull your tripe out in what was an excellent season for the kids and your reward is playing second fiddle to a talented but very green youngster who did precisely WHAT last season?
Sometimes there are bigger issues than raw ability. We have a long season ahead of us and Fages will get plenty of opportunities to show what he is capable of.
