This off season is flying by isn't it.

Or 2 more months to go if you enjoy watching pre season. Personally I hate pre season games.

Anyway it's been a month so I plan to get round to putting something on the site this week. I'm going to continue my 18 championships series I began ages ago and then forgot all about. I'm up to 1952 next with 1960 and then 1987 reviews to follow soon!

We have the arrival of our new coach, new shirt, away game at saints and other pre season friendlies before then, plenty to keep us going.

Well maybe. All that kind of stuff has never excited me. I just prefer the proper action.

Fixtures nearly out though. We already know we start with Hull KR at home.

Well it doesn't excite me but will keep me going just about, then again has the rugby even excited you this year

And possibly some new signings as well, definitely plenty to keep us all talking.

Still nothing beats the feeling of the first game of the season when we haven't lost and are expectations haven't been dashed.

1987 was a great season. I started going to a game or two with my dad in the Steve Ella season of 1985/86, but became a real fanatic the following year. The season review tape is magnificent.

It's really just a case of getting through half of November and all of December for me because i quite like the friendlies and the 4 Nations are keeping me going.

Hopefully it won't drag too badly.

I'm currenty watching Shevington Sharks under 8s. That'll get me through the off season. I've never been as nervous before a game before.

European Cup and Four Nations are making it a lot easier.

Which is why the first game of 2009 vs Wakefield was so crushing. I genuinely think that first game is the main reason I was do disillusioned with last year, after such hope in the off season.
