Should be a tough match. Fairly difficult to gauge how this one will go. With Coyle in as scrum half and Gerrard as the other alternative I think we may struggle for that cutting edge but at least we are starting this competition with a reliable points kicker.
The heart rules the head on this one...

I'm going for Fev 22 - Widnes 26

Pickersgill and Dave Allen should be back so that will give us more options, even Scully might get a run so the pack is rock solid at the min. Fev are a tough side but i think we can win.

Difficult to call. We have Morrisson, Divorty and Haley out. Williams comes in on a DR.
We're obviously short of heavy artillery and that leaves us vulnerable. However, with 3 out and losing 2 more in the match (on for almost all the game, t'other for the whole of the 2nd half) - we came away from Barrow with a proper backs to the wall rearguard win last week. [Fantastic game - a right advert for our league - proper quality blood and snot rugby.
I feel that to beat widnes it will need every player to emulate last weeks performance again!

Anyone going tomorrow? i think ill make the trek up.

Fev win

I think we'll beat them actually, very close last year we are stronger there missing Briggs and a few big forwards. Think we are getting noticeably better by the week in
all departments. Are 1st BIG test so should be a cracker. Real though game but we need to show we mean business this season.

Going straight there from the DW stadium. Could do with J20 getting the kick off delayed so we don't miss much.

I think it will be a fev win, but probably not by many. Personally I still think we are a bit light up front - at the moment, front row is basically same as last year but with Gannon and Haggerty missing and Varkulis added. Also we now have Coyle at scrum half instead of Webbo. From last year we are stronger in some areas but weaker in others. Think we'll be a lot stronger if/when Haggerty and Sculthorpe get fit.

Can't disagree that Haggy & Sculthorpe will add some beef but Varks is pulling up stumps in the front row for me at the minute. Considering he's a centre he's not doing so bad as a prop.
