In just three months time there will be one of the most important decisions in our illustrious history. Granted, due to the all or nothing nature of our sport over the last few decades there have been a few of those and pretty much all of them have gone against us, but this time, our case is so strong the general consensus from most fair RL fans is that we deserve to go through above quite a few existing SL clubs and as there is a guaranteed place for a championship side we surely have everything going for us.

I am still a sceptic about the governing body and their motivations and fairness but under the leadership of O' Connor it feels like we have made ourselves too good to miss out.

With that in mind what are everyone's hopes for 2011?

I want a side that stays healthy and competes, I want a license for SL 2012 announced and a feel good factor at the club to make our entry confident and strong from the offset.

License is in the bag - that's safe. For Bully's special prize - can you top the league or will it be your BFH come September? It's about time you showed some mettle on the pitch. 2011 needs to be a Championship winning year for you Super League leg-uppers.

Joking aside - I am really worried for you. This world, it is about children. What we leave behind for them. As tempting as it is to think it is - it's not about you or me. What of the children of Halifax? What are we leaving them in this crumbling, increasingly confusing world? Fans are deserting to better teams in droves, I know you've been tempted yourself.

You can't simply relocate the whole of Halifax west of the pennines and you can't continue to ignore this issue forever. If you need a rock concert for the plight of the people of Halifax I am ready and able to watch it and nearly dial the phone to donate a fiver until Scissor Sisters or Natasha Bedingfield come on during which time I'll probably turn over the TV and forget. It's the least I can do.

Fax will still be down here surviving long after you go bust again. That is of course as long as there's a Championship left and there's the rub. Can the clubs below and the RFL stop the decline? I'm not so sure but so long as the system survives then so will Fax. Ask yourself this punk - can Widnes break out of the SL graveyard that is the bottom six? So long as moneybags keeps pumping his brass in, maybe. That's the key question here, not what happens to little old Fax (who dominated you for three season's whilst you prepared for SL).
