Once the usual heartbreak has melted away a bit I have to say that performance wasn't that bad at all !!! I see we have the usual grumblers on here again but quite frankly I can't quite see how anyone can have anything but admiration for our efforts this afternoon. Here we are playing the best team in the comp and down to 12 men early on, (which in the modern game spells disaster for even the best) and yet we have the opposition coach coming to the touchline to rally his troops when in the middle of the second half they are in danger of being bettered by a 12 man opposition out on their feet. For me the progress we have made since last year is phenomenal and most fans appreciate that; you only have to see how many stayed when it was a lost cause. We have to celebrate the spirit, wanting and desire in this squad we have.
We made errors and fluffed our lines at times. But how potent are we these days with the ball in the opposition 20??? There were some massive efforts out there with players running for the shirt and the fans when most would have expected them to have expired much earlier. I was proud of the lads today and when we have had as long as the dobbins to build a team we are going to be some force in the game and the City of Hull could well again become the capital of rugby league. We are going to lose some this year, of course we are, but what a coach we have, watching it back he is just as enthusiastic as we all are when we score and its easy to see how the whole club is all together in it for us lot out there in the stands. I refuse to criticise anyone as is the case with Cust who perhaps could have done something, but the rules are the rules, however if I was running that fast I doubt I could have changed much!!! (me running not going to happen though so can't prove it!!!!) We Might have won that one on a level playing field, but when the best team in the leagues supporters cheer a sending off as much as they would winning a trophy it says a lot for how far we have come!!! On we go, but isn't it great to watch this team of ours this season. I'm loving it!!!
Sorry Wilf but if you can?t criticise Cust then you need to go to specsavers Cust?s stupidity stopped us from having a great chance to win the match His tackle using the point of the shoulder was deliberate, and be because he made no attempt to tackle with his arms he had no defence The replay shows how he turned his shoulder into Morgue. He may not have meant to hit Morgue in the head but it was straight Red card when he did. I don't usually reply to such posts because everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, Thanks for your concern for my eyes I appreciate you caring, but for me when an FC team tries as hard as that one did I find it hard to criticise anyone. As I said, (if you read my post) He maybe could have done something, and the rules these days about head contact are the rules and there is no room for anything but a sending off . I would have criticised him if he did it on purpose to get sent off because he wanted to get his suit on and get out of the battle, but of course in the heat of the moment and the battle he did wrong and he copped for a sending off! So yes he was in the wrong, but it happens and he wanted to win and over many many years I have seen some end up in a sending off and some even more blatant ones not and plenty of players pulling on our shirt and not giving a toss. This lot at present from one to 17 don't fall into that category. I just think that when a team is so together and so wanting to win, such things happen, usually resulting in ten minutes, no one does anything but to try and help the cause, although in this case it was obviously a sending off but you have to cop them on the chin and move on. After what we have endured of late as FC fans I find it hard to find much fault with anyone in the organisation at the moment although next week is of course, just that, another week! Anyway thanks again for your concern I better get there early to Specsavers as judging by his comments on the SKY site Carty will be there before me!!!

Commiserations on another derby defeat. There were certainly positives to take from your point of view and at 14-16 I admit I was worried. Rovers lifted and ran out comfortable winners but it was a genuine derby like we haven't seen for a while.
I have to ask why on earth has Cartwright given the goalkicking duties to Pryce who is clearly an inferior kicker to Sezer? As I say I was worried at 14-16 but had Sezer been kicking it would possibly have been 18-16 and the roof would have blown off.
As for the Cust incident it seems everyone accepts that it was an awful tackle and an automatic red card. The one exception being Cartwright but I expect on reflection he will think again. With Mourgue having to go off and face a HIA I expect Cust will be facing a lengthy spell on the side-lines.
I wasn't impressed with your display in the cup tie but this time I really was. Having done us a huge favour in eliminating Wigan from the challenge cup maybe you can do us another favour next week? I must say I don't think you wil
As for the future I am perplexed as to why you could think that your out of town owners with no affection for your club will be willing to plough in money ad infinitum They clearly will be in the short term but have pretty much made it clear that in 3 years tine they will be taking out.
They have more affinity to us than the likes of sewell and Kilburn have to rovers. Once the land is developed they'll be off. As for cust, it was an unfortunate collision. Under the current rules a red card but he'll get no more than 2 games. Win or lose next week, Wigan will still win the grand final. You may win the meaningless hub cap though along with the challenge cup, courtesy, as you say, of your bigger neighbours

Hull will overtake rovers in a couple of years. You saw yesterday how massive we are. 16-17k fans and owners worth half a billion. We dwarf you in terms of potential and the owners are here for the club, not investment land.
You've shouted us down at every opportunity from the early 2000s saying we'd never reach the dizzy heights of SL, then we'd be relegated in our first season, then we was going bust, then owning our own ground was a pipedream then we'd never get crowds over 10k crowds, we'd never get to another final, what's the latest? We'll never win a trophy? I'm enjoying a ride I've never been on before, you may overtake us you may not, I don't particularly care. Rovers are building a home with every amenity and facility we need all under one roof, we are selling 11,200 tickets every week and have a board that care and a team playing for the badge and each other every week. Rovers aren't going anywhere, and I hope Hull build a team to be up there challenging with us. Not going anywhere until your investment dries up?that?s the difference.
