| Yet another fine weekend - spoilt only by the lack of any kind of entertainment on a rugby field.
4/5 drives and a kick - into touch at that - we offered absolutely no threat to Harlequins at all - despite dominating the first half!!!!!!!
I cannot believe what I am watching right now - it is garbage. We have too many players who are not up to the job and a lot more who are, but are just not putting the performances in - even some of our 'bankers' were not at the races for most of today.
The way we are playing this will be a very long season - ultimately ending with us in or around the bottom 3 - as most pundits predicted.
I am really beginning to question the reasons why I bother with this weekly circus - it is draining far too much energy from me only to be disappointed time after time.
This club sorely needs that big performance - win or lose - which will offer hope to the regulars and the part-timers that we are at least in the race. Today, after once again flying from the blocks, we froze - especially after the half time interval when we genuinely awful.
Sorry folks - it was not good and I am not at all happy - TBH I am fed up with it - completely!

| Massive over reaction for you there TRB. Yes we threw it away after a good solid first half but we were in contention it's not like we are getting thrashed. Things have been much worse and this team are good enough to turn this around.

So why am I watching that dirvvle? We have lacked go-forward; solid defence; ideas; timing and pace - and I am losing the will to support them.
I thought we were truly awful at times today - and never felt that we were genuinely in the game. In fact our best chance went when we spurned the 2-points which could have reduced the defecit from 7 to 5 points - ridiculous decision 30m out straight in front!
Our soft underbelly is back - just like 2005/6 - and the opposition just say boo and we roll over.
What really hurts is my own stupidity for believing that this side could be different. There will be many reasons behind why we are playing as we are - but the fact is that we are a poor side on the field of play!

Blaymire played well on one leg. Ryan is a genuine threat. Scully was strong. Snitch / Pitts worked hard - but the hard work doesn't lead anywhere when you then put the ball out of play and don't offer a challenge to the opposition. Rubbish tactics!

| Can not comment on todays game as I did not go...and I am not jumping on the bandwagon because we have lost four on the bounce BUT
The simple facts are we have nothing at halfback Brough does not take the line on enough, he has the pace to but does not utilise it, 6 is non entity. If Drew is quiet, kept quiet or has a poor game we have no idea as he seems to be the only one who will take the line on. We then resort to being a rugby union team and our hopes of a try mainly rest on the kick. This was said by the summariser on Radio Leeds today, tried their best but did not have any know how in the last twenty.
I admire John Kear greatly and he has brought this club on leaps and bounds but we still look two or three yards slower than other teams our forwards dont run onto the ball.
I have faith in Kear but we need to sort it out when in possession or else it is going to be like each season when he has been in charge.

Agreed, the kicking was dire today and tactics wrong. However we haven't become a poor team overnight with Stosic back we should have that bit more go forward. The two tries in the first half were well worked running the angles.
As to the penalty decision was that the offside from the scrum? If so I thought you couldn't take the 2 from a differential penalty.

| Im not sure Wakey were that bad. You were certainly the better team in the first half. I couldn't understand why you kept kicking the ball dead on the 5th when you could have asked questions with other types of kicks.
In the second half Quins came out well and got hold of the match. Your try came from 3 penalties back to back and a "back to 6" which was to much for us.
Speaking to a couple of the Quins forwards they said you had a rough pack. You weren't far of getting the points

No it was earlier than that one - I think it may have been for interference.
The standard of our play though is just terrible at times. We are left to look silly a lot of the time and one of the primary reasons is that there is no work off the ball - no angles, no genuine 'option' runners, resulting in us being forced into a kick - or is that no-one wants to run because we are expected to kick - I don't know, but it's crap to watch!

We dominated - but Quins had more scoring opportunities courtesy of a better kicking game and by asking questions of the full-back and wingers. We got in good positions then kicked the ball out of play - it's as good as a pass back to you - unforgiveable IMO!

| Did not go today as I'm 4,000 miles away but will be back for the Huddersfield game and I hope for a better result.
I can understand TRB's point of view as I often fel the same way but the fact is we have the smallest wage bill in SL and until we are able to spend the full cap we are'nt going to challenge for honours - fact.
The question is how do we increase our income in order to compete. I don't have all the answers but I have mentioned on a previous thread offering incentives to attract people to buy shares is one. There must be other ways and I have also mentioned previously about bringing in someone like Peter Deakin (who sadly is no longer with us) who transformed Bradford and Warrington. You have to speculaute to accumulate - the Club seem to me to think that people should just turn up to support the Club - you have to do something that makes them want to come.
