| It has been increasing in volume the 'as yet' rumour that Bradford Bulls James Clare has signed for Leigh.
One rumour suggested that Leigh outbid Cas for his signature & he will be a Centurion player for 2017 at least.
Any opinions on this 'rumoured' signing ?

| He's ok, adds competition in the back line. There is no deal however, unless the Bulls go in to liquidation.

Surely failure to pay is a breach of contract , making him and the rest free agents ?

Bongser seems to recall that in one of BWFC's wobbles, he read that a second failure to pay players made them free agents. Even if recollected correctly this might still be merely a peculiarity of Association Football.
Atomic seems clued in on all things admin, perhaps he'll enlighten us.

Actually, IF we get bought, then staff and players contracts are TUPE'd over to the new company. But the players and staff don't have to accept the TUPE and can leave for free. It's why Kopczak was able to leave Bradford for Huddersfield

Thanks Roo2. So, in the event of a TUPE, do existing pay rates get honoured? If, as has been widely speculated on your board, there are parties that are interested in gaining ownership of Odsall (complicated as that is) without having real interest in the club, then surely shedding those, especially higher, salaried staff would be a plus for such a buyer?
All mighty sad.

| I'd be VERY happy with Clare.
Always looked a class above at Bradford and would probably be under selling himself playing in the Championship.

I believe it has to be persistent failure to pay you,a one-off missed payment wouldn't really set the ball rolling, breach of contract wise. Two payments missed would be a clear breach of contract. Not sure of the full story concerning the Bulls as in the administrator may have taken on the employment rights of all employees, which might carry different scenarios.

| The administrator runs the existing company while trying to find a buyer no contracts are moved elsewhere. If he can't find a buyer and he subsequently finds there is no cash to pay the staff then there is little choice other than liquidate the company. It seems no buyer wants to pay the creditors to the point that it is a better option for them than liquidation.
