See? Yet another heartland club is failing because the RFL won't pour more money down the drain there.

On a more serious note, all the best to the Cougars in their fight for survival. They never really recovered from being shafted all those years ago.

What will the RFL do to help them survive?

On their board and they all seem pretty confident that the club won't cease to be, but if they go in to administration they're already on the back foot before the season's started.

The price of promotion?

They could always ask RFL could they relocate to Rhyl then we can have two North wales sides

Im sure they will bend over backwards to help them with relocation. To be honest it stinks real shame for Cougars i wish them well fingers crossed they get through it.

Surely they`d be better relocating to Scarborough for a season , easier for their fans .

It's the second season running a team that's come up has ended up in admin. Is winning promotion from Championship 1 really worth that much? And you have to wonder if clubs are saying within the salary cap if this is still happening.

i would guess that the step up to SL money wise is even harder.what happens if you get to SL,run up massive debts,then lose your license

Said on Sky that they put off going into administration untill Jan 17th 2010. I think

I saw that December 18th was the date. Jan 17th was when the winding up order was adjourned till I think

Anyone a list of clubs that have nearly gone / gone recently (in last 12 months).....

Gateshead
Keighley
Oldham
Rochdale

Surely we now need to ensure that whatever clubs we currently have in RL remain in RL and concentrate all efforts to build up all the remaining clubs so that we don't have this type of announcement.
