Signing players that won tiles in their pomp at other clubs didn't work back in the day.(Jiffy being an exception) It certainly didn't feel right cheering any of them on, and they never got close to replicating their Widnes form. Currier is a great example, Mark Jones came in at the same time and my old man and older brother were livid that we were signing a house like him.
we got a bit of decent form out of paul hulme in SL1, but again, i remember a lot of people being irate at the time.

I hated alan hunte, we'd signed other people from saints, i'd never really had a problem with anyone else at that point, Hunte, couldn't stand. Presumably that we were paying him a packet at the time we were struggling for cash.
