| A friend of mine is mates with Jake Emmitt and he says it's a done deal that Morley has signed on for Salford next year. Thoughts?

| Welcome Rocket Red - yes its old news I`m afraid and its not gone down brilliantly with the Forumites - feeling he is now near the end but would surely benefit the club more on the Marketing side.

| Thanks for the welcome. I agree to be honest, think we have seen the best of Morley now, but I think he may put some bums on seats (which we obviously need). Plus he could possibly move into a coaching role with us once he finishes playing.

| We do need a marquee signing to try and get a few more through the turnstiles, which Morley would probably do. On the playing side of things though, I'd rather someone who's still at their peak, not on the verge of retirement

| If this turns out to be true (which i think it will), it'll be the only signing which we have made where i genuinely have no opinion, i won't be bothered whichever way it goes.

| When fit, Morley was still putting some hard graft last season, so it isn't completely out of the question that he'll be able to put in some decent shifts. Walne and Emmit are still quite young, so they should be capable of playing an extra 10/15 minutes each match, to accommodate him. If he can still put some big shots in, then he might be worth the risk.

| Knackered and past it.
Yes he is from Salford but has had the chances in the past to return "home"
One last pay day for him.
Bad move IMHO when there are better and younger props out there

| He`ll be ok at counting how many players we have on the pitch at any given time and that's about it.
Prestwich Red hits nail on head very nicely.

| Nobby will only sign Moz if he thinks he can do a job for us. I'm happy to back his judgement either way.

| As frequently posted: possibly with a view to using his experience and knowledge in coaching: we do need a defensive coach and a "player-coach" would lead in more than one way.

| I think he should come as an ambassador for Rugby League in Salford and sit him next to the marketing team rather than the squad.

| People keep saying Morley had his chances to come to the club. When? If you read his book he strongly refutes this, and indeed is quite bitter that Salford did not come in for him. After Leeds, he went to Oz, and on returning from Oz a certain Mr Karl Harrison said he was not worth a 3 year contract as he was all but finished. So when did he actually have his chances to sign for Salford. A 12 month deal might be ok as we clearly need an on field leader and an off field ambassadorial role, or coaching position could work.
