Was thinking the same thing when I saw he was being released.

I think out of the two I'd rather have Ben Cross, I rated him when I saw him play NRL in 2010 and thought he would have gone better at Leeds.

I think it's about time the RL imposed a limit of two loan players per club. It's always the same club(s) who get the compassion from of the bigger clubs.

Either that or there should be a system for loan players as follows:-

1. A club wishing to loan out a player have to make it public to all clubs that the player is available.

2. Clubs interested in signing a loan player must make their interest known to the RFL.

3. The loan player goes to the highest bid registered with the RL (Contribution to the loan players contract)

How many times have Hull had loan players from Leeds over the years? I don't think it's any coincidence that Mrs Hethrington at Hull FC is married to the Chief Executive of Leeds Rhinos.

Defo Cross for me. Compliment the props we've already gt while they r starting to show some form.

Not sure that Burgess will be an option - i think he'd rather have a club nearer home for a few months til he jets off to Oz. But if he wants to be in the shop window to attract an NRL team than he's probably guaranteed more 1st choice at Salford than at other clubs pushing for the lower spots in the play offs

The big question for me is whether Cross or Burgess will bring enough extra to make it worth disrupting the front row as it finds form. I wouldn't argue that another prop would be ideal but it needs to be the right one - have either of them shown that they are better than what we already have in their current form?

Either or both for me. Cross doesn't look like he's ever fitted in since he arrives at Leeds and Burgess for me is every bit the player his other 29980754758 brothers are



Would MP sanction either though with him being a few weeks away from arriving? I had kind of hoped he might be looking for Bailys replacement in OZ as we speak and maybe bring him over at the same time.

If we were looking to use Bailey's quota spot, Bryce Gibbs would be a better option!!! Rumoured to be on his way out of Wests, but I'm not sure what the latest is. His aggressiveness is just what we need. Would he be interested in coming to Salford, though?

Cross is a formidable forward: but only if he can be "reeled in" and stop being aggressive to the point of giving penalties away. For as sure as eggs is eggs in SL, penalties mean points (and usually tries) conceded.

I do get the impression though with Ben Cross that he's frustrated at not getting enough time off the bench.

We may have Bailey's quota spot available but I reckon we haven't got the money to fund a replacement anymore - am I the only one who thinks that Bailey announcing his retirement swiftly followed by the agreement for McRae's departure was not coincidence?

Gibbs has signed for Cronulla mate. Looking down the list of out of contract players both here and in Oz, there is a a lot of talent coming out of contract that we're hopefully looking at.
