It’s quite a gulf to bridge though. Which isn’t Saints’ or Wigan’s fault.

Hull KR are showing more ambition/have more resource than previously, but it’ll need to be sustained for a long time to shift the dial enough, imo - unless there’s a one-off ‘stars align’ season. It is a bit weird that that’s never happened across SL’s history, even once. Not specifically for Hull KR… for any of the less well-resourced clubs. Or maybe it just underlines the gulf. The better-resourced clubs will just always have another gear or more in the tank.

I think we’re stuck between stools as ‘other clubs’. Not quite ready to accept that nothing will ever change (like Scottish football, say - because that’d be ‘admitting defeat’) and instead fully enjoy or embrace our little subplots. But not quite able to do what’d be needed to change it.
