The game is currently in a state of limbo as clubs await news on what the future holds - particularly in terms of promotion and relegation - and after Lenagan spoke out on Monday, opposition voices have started to be heard.
Halifax's Michael Steele condemned rival chairmen as "self-centred" on Wednesday, with Hall going one step further.
In a statement he said: "Who the hell does Ian Lenagan think he is?
"Like all of us, he has known about this for 12 months. The RFL has been consulting with the clubs at meetings after meetings, and we're all fully aware of what's been going on.
"Then at the eleventh hour before the council meeting, Mr Lenagan goes and puts things in the paper as if he knows nothing.
"He's supposed to be a businessman - has he been going to these meetings, or has he been sending people from the club who haven't informed him?"
Hall, whose Doncaster side were expecting a return to promotion and relegation - a move which would open Super League's currently-closed door to them - went on to suggest Lenagan was never so forceful when with old club London.
"Ian Lenagan is the chairman and owner at Wigan, a very successful club that is winning trophies. If he wants to run the Rugby League, then he should leave Wigan and try and do that," Hall added.
"When he was at Harlequins nobody knew who he was, and he wasn't shouting his mouth off then. For him to have that meeting called off at the last hour and say that he hasn't been informed about anything is nonsense. We were all ready to go to the council meeting.
"I own my club as well, and now we have no idea what's going to happen next year. We have been recruiting players to play at a certain level, and who is he to interfere with that? I thought Rugby League people were family people, with morals.
"But here we have somebody who wants to have secret meetings with clubs, cherry picking the ones he can control. He has his own club to control - he shouldn't be trying to run the whole game."
Hall is not the only Championship chairman to have spoken out on Thursday.
Mark Sawyer, of Dewsbury Rams, was not entirely supportive of the proposed changes - which were essentially to bring in two divisions of 12 - but was happy to go along with the governing body.
"As a club, we were disappointed in the RFL Council Meeting being cancelled," he said.
"The whole game proposal which was to be put in front of us may not be 100 per cent perfect for Dewsbury Rams RLFC, however, as a club we were completely convinced it was in the interest of the whole game - top to bottom.
"We had already decided that there had to be give and take and that the proposal to be put in front of us would not be everything we wanted, but I can say we are in full support of the RFL's proposal and hope that all clubs will eventually get behind it so that the sport may move forward as one."
The RFL has said it will return to the future of the domestic game after the World Cup, which ends on November 30.
Lenagan declined to comment when contacted by Press Association Sport on Thursday, probably because he's a selfish pompous prick.

| Big respect to Doncaster CEO Carl Hall.
I have not liked Ian Lenagan since he made empty speculation about [url=http://richarddelariviere.co.uk/?p=324London Bronco's being in the play offs by 2010 plus emulating top achievements on a regular basis not seen for the club since the 1999 cup final against Leeds and when they beat Canberra Raiders in 1997[/url. Instead of remaining faithful to London he buggered off to his hometown club as soon as he could and introduced the most vicious form of rugby league ever seen in recent years by bringing Micheal Maguire over from Australia. Micheals tactics leave a legacy at the club to this day as seen with the tackle on Stefan Ratchford in the recent Super League Grand Final.
However Lenagans biggest crime to this date (apart from his recent meddling with the RFL) was how he handled Gareth Hock when the player wanted out of his club. Not only was Hock loaned out to another club deemed not a rival to Wigans 2013 season, Hock was banned from playing against his former club and missed out on a chance to play for a rival club that would suit his talents more. Thankfully Hocks Widnes adventure hasn't affected him much and he's now in the England squad to face the Aussie in the upcoming world cup.
Wigan fans will probably not agree with the above but reading the Wigan boards I know that many weren't too pleased with how the Tomkins contract was handled by Ian Lenagan!
Lenagan OUT!

| Loving or hating lenaghan aside,
I think the clubs have a right to be concerned with the direction the sport is taking, and many of the clubs at the top, Warrington Wigan Saints etc need a strong rugby league to grow themselves further.
You might not agree with how it's been done or what particular topic has been used, or how it's been gone about, or whose been chosen as the front man of the so called rebellion, it may of been more strongly argued by other chairmen but lenaghan was chosen as the front man as they thought it more pertinent coming from the champion club and that's why he refused to comment. We don't know the whole story.
And a chairman arguing that a system should be put in place as it benefits his team, calling a person self interested because they disagree about it for there's seems a bit contradictory to me ...

Lanagan wanted things to change for what he saw for the better at London and look how that turned out. He left them in a worse state than he found them in. Going on his past record He will do the same with Wigan and Rugby League if he has his way. Intentional or unintentional I don't know but there's something not so right with him.

I don't know if "the lenaghan effect" is intentional or not either, and if this had been a one man crusade I'd of agreed, but given the other clubs involved, is what makes me more convinced in these clubs begging the question: where is our sport going?
And I certainly hope he does to Wigan as a Saints fan (I don't really wish any club into financial trouble!)

Point of order.
IL was happy to keep his stake in London and continue bankrolling the expansion of the game....the RFL and the whiny little pricks who are now complaining cried foul and essentially killed London's SL team. His track record is excellent...he's added 20% to Wigan's crowds and made them self sustainable whilst SELLING PLAYERS and the conveyer belt looks pretty nifty too.
IL is the best thing to happen to British RL since Murdoch bought the game in my opinion......
As I have posted elsewhere on this matter.....the RFL and Championship Chairmen counted their chickens before they were hatched. Why should SL clubs subsidise the Championship? Because the RFL haven't managed to generate enough cash.........it's the RFL's own fault.

| Sorry Mr Hall, did Ian Lenagan or the RFL cancel the RFL meeting? Is he the sole opponent of their plans or representing a majority of SL clubs? Is he actually trying to run the game is you repeatedly assert? Are you really so surprised they waited until the SL season was over before going public with their concerns and opposition? Do you really think they should all sit back and accept something they're unhappy about and feel could be damaging? Are you in fact, having a hissy fit?
How about instead, Mr Hall, you wind your neck in, pick up your dummy, act a little more professionally and try to appreciate a great many people in the game oppose what the RFL are proposing and indeed have zero confidence in their leadership. I'm sorry your plans were disrupted and the late timing didn't suit but tough.

Playing the RFL at their own game. Their timing of this EGM would have been around it being close to RLWC 2013 and the premise that nobody would rock the boat or damage the game so close to the event.
As it is, the RFL are now faced with the real possibility of a breakaway by the top clubs. Given that IL and the other chairmen who are "unhappy" are all successful businessmen, tubby Nigel may well be out of his depth.

Ian Lenagan in not agreeing with the rules shocker. If Ian Lenagan had choosen the London club over Wigan then who knows what may of happened. Instead he left London high and dry to run his hometown club. Ian Legan blaming the RFL for him having to resign from London is nothing but good PR to make him look dandy.

Those championship clubs have provided those super league clubs with a lot of players over the years. A tax free rugby league would be a conservative wet dream!

He was told he had to stop his investment in the club by the RFL.......HIS company SPORTS CAFE remained as our main shirt sponsor with his other company WORKPLACE SYSTEMS on the back. If he was so self serving, we'd have not had considerable revenues from him for a couple of years after he was told to stop "investing". The RFL couldn't do a thing about it, but he made it clear he would have been happy to stay at London....no PR, no spin, just plain facts.
