Was just hoping to get some fairly unbiased opinions of Tom Briscoes performance today...

I thought he was left out to dry by Smith and Mc Guire as do a few other hull fans, obviously the rovers fans disagree, but i was just interested in getting some other opinions.

Briscoe didn't do anything wrong, it was that waste of space kick & crap player he had as a centre and his partner in crime McGuire that made all the errors.

Bemused as to why he was sacrificed. Cleared his lines well and for Eastmond to be brought in, Eastmond to fullback with the other Briscoe iut was the obvious answer for mine.

They could have sorted the problem in a couple of ways without even wasting a sub:

S. Briscoe to centre, Smith to FB
T. Briscoe to centre, Smith to the wing.

On a number of occasions Briscoe was left to hang out there by his centre and the rest of the England side that got sucked in by the Australian's dominant attack.

Briscoe had a choice to go for either the man with the ball, or does he rely on his centre to close the gap in time, which didn't happen I'm afraid.

For that reason alone I think he was taken off. You could argue all night that he might not have done anything wrong, but I think Australia targeted that right side because of his inexperience.

I didn't think Briscoe did anything wrong tbh. Our Right was peppered and he returned the ball as expected.He'll learn from the experience and hopefully fill Smith's defection.

Nothing visibly wrong with what we saw, but that side defence did improve after the change. Edge defence often relies on the winger making calls, perhaps that was the problem?

I'd still go with Lee Smith on the Wing in the last game over him though...

No pace whatsoever. Shouldn't have been taken off.

Hasn't Smith been shouting how he likes playing centre ?. Maybe he'll shut up now.

Thats what Smith will pick next week. Thing is when they go over the match video I am not sure what Tom did wrong? Didint chase back the kicks fast enough? Bit harsh if so however I reckon the pause button is constantly on for the missed tackles by his centre.

Its a harsh lesson for the kid.

He did nothing wrong and certainly wasnt at any fault for any of the tries. If anyone was substituted then it should have been Smith.

Saying that I dont think he is ready for this level and was very surprised when he was picked. However as I said he did nothing wrong today, or last week for that matter.
