I have no real allegiance or dislike to them, however I think the whole RL family should rally round clubs in times of difficulty.

Did you feel the same way about the Crusaders?

I did, btw. I've retweeted the hashtag tweets for Leigh.

It's a shame about Leigh but maybe they have to go through the same process that Gateshead, Hunslet, Doncaster, etc, have done in order to survive in the future. As seen by the clubs I've just mentioned, administration/liquidation need not be the end of the road, just the beginning of a more appropriate journey. Cru are going through the same thing too.

According to the Leigh website, their owner has said he will not let the club go into administration

Not sure what the fuss is about at the minute, seems to be rumour central, until something concrete is announced, I don't see the point in pressing the panic button.

To be honest yes I did. However because that came and went in the blink of an eye no-one really had the option.

Also this is different as Crusaders were a relatively new club whereas Leigh are one of the found members.

Apparently, they are very close to the line and they have a plan to keep them out of administration if they can just make it to November.

Is it just me thinking it, or is it merely par for the course for Leigh having financial difficulties every few years. They just dont seem to learn.

I get the impression the people of Leigh regard themselves as a big club and spend accordingly, rather than cutting their cloth as is appropriate.

All the other clubs who have their income topped up by a benefactor would be in exactly the same position if they pulled out in mid season (Arthur Thomas had to withdraw his funding as his business went bankrupt because of money owed by another company who had since gone bust).

Isn't this the fourth time they have been in the financial mire / liquidated?
