Just seen a different angle of when Danny committed the last seconds foul on the pie player .
Just as he catches up you can clearly see his knee collapse beneath him . Looks to me like an automatic reaction to grab hold of the nearest thing to hand which just happened to be the pie.
I have had problems with a knee collapsing over the years . It is fkin agony , and trust me , It ain't voluntarily that you grab hold of the nearest thing to you .
Best angle to see it is (if Danny is running at 12 o'clock ) around 4 o'clock .. from Danny's right side , but slightly behind him if you know what I mean .
I saw it on telly . Can anyone point me in the direction of a replay from that angle on-line ?

He already had hold of the shirt, but as has been mentioned on another thread, it's perfectly plausible that his knee giving way was the reason for him pulling Carmont down. I don't for one minute believe that he would drag him down otherwise.

Professional foul or an act of desperation from a man in a moment of excruciating pain ? I will give you that he was already going for the pie . Had the leg not given way though , my opinion is that the pie would have taken a pass and Danny would have ran over him . He was reaching out ready to tackle in expectation of that pie taking the pass when the knee went .
Knee went . He grabbed .. Leeds are a load of cheating (winning) barstewards

Danny mcguire was blatantly trying to pull Carmont down , I can't understand why he would as you say he was on his tail and would have been there to complete a tackle if he had have recieve the ball back . but as it happens he was trying to cheat nothing more nothing less !!! Leeds deserved the win on the night and Mcguire spoilt the game by commiting a proffesional foul . foolish play and unwarranted in our sport !!!

Both Cup games involving Leeds and Wigan this year have been great spectacles, right down to the final play.

Its funny how an incident at the end of a game gets all the hysteria attached. In most tight games there are numerous points which have a significant bearing on the result - including foul play.

I must admit to thinking it was an odd move by Danny at the time as I suspect he is much quicker than Carmont anyway. But, regardless, in the eyes of the game he pulled Carmont down. Its all irrelevant now. With the injuries and suspensions we have rcaking up I fully expect Wigan to come to town next weekend and win the one that matters.
